If your vehicle was registered before 2016 then it should be using R134a. Later than 2016 it probably on R1234yf.
The reason for the change is that the new gas has a Global Warming Potential ( or GWP) of 4. This means that every gram of R1234yf is the equivalent of 4 grams of CO2.
In comparison R134a has a GWP of 1430 so you can see why there is a drive to use the newer gas.
We have fully automatic machines for both R134a and R1234yf to ensure that your system is recharged efficiently and correctly.
One important thing to note is that we vacuum your system for 45 minutes to ensure all the moisture and old gas is extracted. Most garages only vacuum a system for 25.
